NEW YORK HEALTHCARE SYSTEM EXPANDS USE OF STREAMLINE HEALTH DOCUMENT WORKFLOW SOLUTIONS

NEW YORK HEALTHCARE SYSTEM EXPANDS USE OF STREAMLINE HEALTH DOCUMENT WORKFLOW SOLUTIONS

Cincinnati, Ohio – June 1, 2011 — Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRM), a market leading provider of document workflow solutions for hospitals, announced today that a leading New York Healthcare System has contracted with Streamline Health to use the company’s Coding Workflow in its two medical centers. Under the terms of the agreement, the healthcare system will access the product using Streamline Health’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) model for a term of at least 2.5 years.

Streamline Health’s Coding Workflow solution streamlines the coding process for medical coders, saving hospitals time and manpower. The solution increases efficiency by giving coders immediate access to electronically stored documents as soon as they are available, instead of waiting for the paper record. Electronically stored documents are automatically routed to the appropriate coder, whether on-site or off, alleviating the burden of on-site personnel. Each coder has the ability to electronically route specific documents to physicians for review and signature, saving physicians’ time as well. The workflow eliminates redundant data entry and lets hospitals establish parameters to assign specific, high-dollar charges to key coding personnel. The solution can also be integrated with third-party encoding or abstracting of software, and as an added benefit hospitals can also free up space previously constrained in their HIM department by paper storage.

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with yet another one of our clients,” said Robert Watson, president and chief executive officer of Streamline Health. “Our clients understand the real value of our products, and their decision to license our Coding Workflow reflects our ability to provide flexible solutions that meet the specific needs of today’s hospitals. This also highlights our commitment to delivering solutions that help today’s healthcare organizations achieve their strategic vision of turning paper-based documents into flexible, secure digital assets, a critical issue facing hospitals today.”
