ST. VINCENT’S MEDICAL CENTER EXTENDS LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH STREAMLINE HEALTH AND MIGRATES TO SaaS MODEL

ST. VINCENT’S MEDICAL CENTER EXTENDS LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH STREAMLINE HEALTH AND MIGRATES TO SaaS MODEL

Cincinnati, Ohio – August 3, 2011 – Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRM), a market leading provider of document workflow solutions for hospitals, announced today that St. Vincent’s Medical Center has extended its agreement to utilize Streamline Health products and services through an agreement with Streamline Health’s strategic partner, GE Healthcare. Under the terms of the seven-year agreement, the healthcare system will be converting from a licensing model to Streamline Health’s software as a service (SaaS) model, and will upgrade to a new accessANYware version with additional HIM workflows.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a 473-bed community teaching and referral hospital with a Level II trauma center. St. Vincent’s provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services with regional centers of excellence in cardiology, surgery, cancer care, orthopedics, diagnostics, women’s and family services, behavioral health, senior health, and an array of specialized services.

By migrating to accessANYware v1.9, the medical center will move closer to their goal of ICD-10 compliance. accessANYware v1.9 provides key benefits in the final elimination of legacy hardware and provides multi-entity benefits allowing a medical center to manage facilities separately with unique governance. The upgrade will also provide the medical center with GE Inbox integration – allowing physicians to complete their charts from one location.

As part of the new agreement, the medical center will also deploy several additional Streamline Health products: Chart Completion Workflow, Coding Workflow, and Release of Information Workflow. The suite of workflows will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the HIM department by automating the routing of documents and allowing remote employees access to documents online.

Moving to the SaaS model gives the organization access to an already established, fully redundant, and fault tolerant computing environment where records are secure from unauthorized access through encrypted data transfers. Hardware and software are maintained and upgraded off-site, minimizing maintenance costs and reducing reliance on IT staff and resources. It also gives the medical center access to a fully trained IT staff dedicated to the 24/7 operation and administration of the system.

“We are pleased to be able to provide St. Vincent’s with not only the products and workflows that will help their staff work in a more electronic environment, but to also offer an outsourced option that meets their needs,” said Robert Watson, president and chief executive officer of Streamline Health. “By utilizing our HIM workflows, St. Vincent’s Medical Center will be able to drive additional operational efficiencies that will lead to a real return on investment. Like many of our clients, migrating to our SaaS model will help the organization reduce infrastructure costs, upgrade their document storage system without incurring the costs associated with additional servers and hardware, and free up their information technology staff to focus on managing other programs.”

“We have successfully used Streamline Health’s document management solutions in our hospital for more than five years, and see the migration to their SaaS model along with the implementation of their HIM workflows as the next step in our journey to the complete online patient record,” said Betsy Thornquist, chief information officer at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. “We believe these programs will help our medical center reduce costs, optimize our online capabilities, and provide an even better patient experience.”
